An Accounting Basis is the time various financial transactions that is defined by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) as the body of accounting principles. The Accounting Basis determines when the effects of transactions or events should be recognised for financial reporting purposes that is related to the timing of the measurement made, regardless of the nature of the measurement.
